Culture

Talofa lava, Malo lelei, Kia ora tātou katoa!

The cultural opportunities for our Māori and Pasifika students within Otago Girls' are going from strength to strength. This year, our Pasifka performing arts group named by our girls as ‘Pacific Pearls’, has provided a focal point for the diverse group of students at Otago Girls' with and without Pasifika ethnicities. Recently, Loisi Afiemeimouga presented an original composition of her own to the entire school during assembly.

Wairua Pūhou, our  combined Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools Māori Performing Arts group has been working almost every weekend and throughout their holidays in preparation for Hautoka 2017.

Our Performance groups dedicate many hours of practice in preparation for regional and national competitions, Te Hautoka and Otago Polyfest.

Wairua Pūhou is central to all significant events at our school, providing manaakitanga for our visitors.
